I'm so jealous, I would give my left leg to live in that house. How easy was it moving from Utah to Ireland ? I've always wanted to do that (or Scotland maybe London)

It was pretty easy for me to move because I got married before they could kick me out! LOL! Met my husband online and moved in with him when I moved out here and then a year later got married so I didn't have to worry about finding a place to live or anything like that. I don't know many of the details because of that, when you first come over you have to talk to immigration and prove that you can support yourself is all I can remember.

Some people have a hard time coming over here because money exchange rates are so incredibly bad for US money right now. A US dollar is only worth .65 cents or so in euros and even less in pounds so they don't transfer over well and it can get expensive.

It's so gorgeous over here though. Live in a little cottage in the woods now instead of by the sea. I miss my family like mad but I would be nowhere else in the world right now :)

How pretty. When did you move to Ireland? When I get a bit older, I want to live there for a few years...or forever. :aww: This picture makes it much more real. You can truly live in little cottages by the sea? :+fav: It looks so tranquil.

I moved to Ireland from Utah three years ago. It was quite the change :) And you can definitely live in cottages by the sea... Right now we live in a cottage in the woods by streams and a lake and our own herd of wild deer that come to eat our lawn daily and we have at least 100 bats in our ceiling that surround the cottage every morning at about 4:00 :lmao: I like it quite a bit :D

That sounds like a wonderful dream. :aww: Especially with the woods and deer, and of course the bats. They're my favorite! :XD: Have you seen any seals?

Haven't seen any seals. While I lived by the beach there didn't seem to be any right in that area. We did have hedgehogs and badgers at the last house I was in though. Hedgehogs rock :D

I'll have to keep my eye out for some, then. I heard there were seals around there, and they're my favorite. But you've seen hedgehogs? That's really cool - did you get to touch one? :D

LOL...yeah, used to poke the hedgehog when he was eating out of the cat dish. He didn't like it much but generally wouldn't run away :D

I used to have a possum the size of a small dog waddle around my house. He used to eat the cat food too. :) Of course, we were a bit more afraid of him than a hedgehog.

It was such a pretty area, the cottage was very, very drafty and cold and miserable though! We live in the middle of the woods now and I love it even more :) Thanks for the fave!

I live by the woods now rather than by the sea. It's different scenery but still incredibly gorgeous! I'd recommend Ireland to anyone, but be prepared to be damp all the time

Aww, lucky duck! Thats so beautiful, I'm the same though. I would give up looking at the ocean for a good wooded area, I love trees.

I think it has mostly to do with the fact that they are so useful, you can climb them, they shade things so well and make it cooler, and they let us breathe!

Do you have any pictures of the inside? I wonder what it looks like XD

I love the trees  It makes me feel so calm to be in the forest.

I don't have any photos of inside the cottage...it was pretty standard. Really kind of a little hole in the wall...I couldn't believe the state it was in when I got there...you know some men's house keeping, there were cobwebs everywhere and stuff like that. We were only there for a couple of months but by that time I'd already completely repainted the kitchen and bathroom  The place we're in now is a semi-detached cottage (which means it's a sort of cottage duplex) and is much nicer but the area isn't quite as pretty.

Aww, well at least you have beauty around you right? Yes, sadly I do know how some men's house keeping is... my boyfriend (we've known each other forever, dated a year this Oct) he used to have awful habits, leaving dishes with food on them in his room, and glasses with milk or soda in them just sitting there for days!
I used to freak and clean when I'de be in his room... he has gotten so much better though, he doesn't leave plates or glasses in his room, and he picks up his clothes!

Hes 22, well just turned 22 this month.

 My husband is 43 so you'd think he would have learned by now! He's funny though because the bed has to be made every morning, which I don't particularly care about. Works out ok though because he always stays up WAAAY later than me and gets up hours after me so he can just make it ;) And he can't stand if dishes are left around. But he couldn't care less about dust and cobwebs being knee deep on stuff. They're strange little things, men :D

Oooooh...that sounds so pretty :) County Cork is supposed to have more temperate weather than we get up here. And a river is good...I'm personally more of a forest person than an ocean person, no matter how beautiful the ocean is :D

if i can, i'd go for both...what's better than a forest near the ocean...and a little river :D
i live in the continent, but i love water in all forms and i would love to have a cottagy in the country, with a little spring in my yard, just like my friends have - their own drinkable water.
